Just wanted to put something on here. Hard to believe I have had this car for 20 years and not much has gotten done to it. :flag:

Yes one dirty, dusty engine. Drywall dust gets into everything.

It is a numbers matching SS with a .060 over 396, 4sp, 3:31 Eaton posi, Jet Hot coated Hedman headers, they made a big difference in the engine bay heat. Factory tach doesn't work, but will one day. The AC is off, that is my last major expense after it is all done since it will cost a ton to get it up to specs. It isn't fast but that big block torque sure is nice to feel along with the sound of the flowmaster exhaust. Now when NC gets that lottery, a nice 502/502 with a 6sp would be smokin. :chevrolet: Oh wait, got to win it first.

You've got a numbers matching SS, and you want to swap out the motor? To each his own, it's your money, it's your car, and I'd help you do it if you were around....But still....

Thanks for the pics, and keep us updated on it.

Is that a 65?

That car brings back memories. My father drove a 65 impala ss convertable until 1982. It had a 283 with a 2 speed powerguild. Not really worthy of the ss badge. My mother had it since it was new. It had 260K miles when they got rid of it. They sold it to somebody who said they wanted to restore it. To this day, what's left of the rusty body is still sitting in the backyard of the guy who bought it.

I hope your project goes well.

You have got a great project car there. I do know if I swapped the engine out, I would have the factory one stored so you would always have the numbers matching engine :flag: .

If I could only win the lottery, I could finish a bunch of projects (and start a few :banghead: ).
