2500 series with auto 3:73 and 6.0 mileage

What are you other guys getting empty, back and fouth to work? How about trailering mileage? 7000-8000 lbs? Is the factory tranny cooler enough for towing these weights?

I have the 5 Sp manual 6.0 w/3:73 and I've gotten 17+ empty on the hiway and 12's in town empty. Haven't towed yet so can't help you there.

I have a 1500HD with the 6.0 and 3.73

In town I make 9 MPG and on the highway empty I make 12 MPG.

Pulling 2000 pounds on the highway I made 9 MPG.

I only have 2000 miles on the truck, so I hope it improves. I was told to expect improvement after 4000 miles.

2002, 6k Miles - 2500, 3.73 Rear, 6.0L 4x4, Ext Cab

Back and forth to work, 26 miles one way and empty, 14.7 to 15.3 mpg.

Could not be happier. Luv the thing, beats my 97 350 all to ####.

I just bought a 2500HD with the 6.0, 4speed auto, and 4.10 locker rearend.

Just filled up the 2nd tank and so far I'm getting 12.43 miles per gal city/highway. The owners manual said not to pull a trailer the first 500 miles. We just rolled over 596 miles this weekend. Now manual says I can tow but only up to 50 miles per hour until we break the 1000 mile mark. I'll get back about the towing when theres a little more info.

My 99 with 40,000 miles on it 6.0 3:73 gets 15 mpg on the highway,,,, 10 around town.

I get about 12 empty, haven't run a full tank towing but would estimate about 9 towing.

2004 2500LD 6.0L 3.73 Auto - Mileage Depends.

After hunting last week I babied it 55-60 on the way home and made 15.6 mpg (best I've ever gotten). Usually around 10 in town and 13-15 on the highway empty. I make between 10-11 towing or hauling my truck camper (between 3000-4000 lbs total).

Not pretty, but my 97 1500 Z71 wasn't anything special for mileage either, so I'll take the 3/4 ton capacity over the extra 1-2 mpg.
