i live in manitoba, Canada. and we get cold winters. command start is a must here. can i get it on a 2003 gmc Sierra Duramax 6.6? because dont they have glow plugs? so they will need like a wait timer once the ignition turns on for the glow plugs to finish heating up? anyone done this?

Who told you they don't have glow plugs? The glow plugs have a much quicker warm up time than diesels of old, but they still have them. The new LLY diesel needs almost no wait time.

so is there a way you can have command start on them?  on the 03?

what is that lly diesel,  and the other one too.  whats the lly mean?

I assume by command start you mean remote start? I suppose you could. There may be some starting difficulties if the remote start isn't capable of giving the glow plugs a few seconds to heat up if it's really cold out.

The Duramax underwent some significant changes and so the engine designation was changed from LB7 to LLY. The LLY glow plugs heat up even faster.
