Changing out Bose Head unit

Here's the plan. I have an '03 Yukon SLT with the Bose system and Panasonic factory DVD for the rear. The DVD works through the Bose head unit.

I want to get a pioneer head unit from crutchfield and get the $100 adapter that lets you keep onstar, door chime etc. What I didn't see mentioned was whether or not the factory Panasonic DVD in the back will still work through this new head unit?

Nope...unfortunatly the RSE/DVD player requires a Class II data bus link with the stock radio in order to function. If you are looking for better sound quality, IMO your best bet is to get a PAC AOEM-GM24 adaoter and hook up an aftermarket amp/speakers to the stock head unit. It will sound just as good as an aftermarket head unit hooked up to an aftermarket amp/speakers..

Ahh, not the answer I wanted to hear but that's what I feared. I will probably do something like you are talking about. My main beef is the lack of bass. I want the volume at a reasonable level with decent bass, something the Bose isn't capable of.
