brake issues

I have a 99 4-door tahoe that I am using for a plow- hunting vehicle It has 95,000 miles. Purchased from relative this fall and now it is not driven daily. When I begin to plow (about every other day) as soon as I push the brake down at low speeds the rear brakes lock up and jerk the vehicle badly. I also have noticed that the ABS will engage even when backing up very slowly. I am guessing a bad sensor for the abs issue but why are the brakes so grabby? After driving down the road and using them a little things go back to normal.

Yep, the ABS problem is almost certainly a front wheel speed sensor. Sometimes, taking the sensor out and cleaning it's mounting surfaces is enough to fix it. There's a recall for this issue.

You'll have to take a look at the rear brakes. Perhaps contaminated with something.
