Door Locks

Hi,

I'm new here so you'll have to be patient. My truck is a '02 2500HD extended cab. My problem is the electric lock in the drivers door doesn't work. I'm very sure that I can hear the solenoid in the latch clicking when I activate it by use of the button in the door or by using the keyless fob. I can lock it manually from inside the door or with the key on the outside. I had the inner door panel off and didn't see any thing wrong (there isn't much too see anyways). I've already priced a replacement latch (ouch!!!!) for it appears that the whole things comes as one piece. Is this true?? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Ken

You sure you're hearing the actuator and not the relay that operates the locks? In any case, yes, the actuator is part of the latch. Check to be sure you have power and ground at the actuator connector when you operate the locks with the lock button or key fob.
