Hey,i have a 2000 z71 with a 5.3 and i was wondering what other performance things i could do to my truck to get a little more power..i have a Drop in K&N right now and a flowmaster..but i would like more power...and i was thinking about a Volant intake?how do they perform on these motors?also what does vortec mean?haha thank you very much..Travis

I don't think you will see much "seat of the pants" improvement with a Volant over your drop in filter.

 

Your best bet from here is a custom tune. I have a Westers 89/91 dual tune and removed most of the Torque Management and it drives like a totally different truck. More power and when I give the right foot a rest, better milage. There are several custom tunes available and everyone has their favorite. I have a Westers and I love mine, but have not tried any others.

You might want to do a full k&n intake kit, headers, and a tune.
