Traction control

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 2wd 5.3 and it has the optional traction control. I have attempted to disable it but there is no visible switch to turn the system on/off. I checked the owner's manual and it says switch the T/C on/off but I cannot locate the switch, it is not on the dash like on an '05 Sierra. I looked for a fuse to take out but can't find one either. Any thoughts to be able to control the traction control? The indicator lamp shows up on startup and the traction activated comes up on the driver display but I can't figure out how to disable it.

Thanks, Gary.

Hmmm, I'll have to look at an '06 when I get back to work. According to our service information, the switch is on the dash on the '06, right where it has always been.

It wouldn't be the first time there's an error in SI. And I would not be terribly surprised if the harness for the switch is there, but the wrong plate without a switch instead of with got put on your truck.

Thanks, I wondered if they forgot to put the switch in the dash. Could you also check to see if the switch is supposed to be below the cargo lamp switch as in an 05.

Thanks, Gary.
