noob need help with transfercase differences.

Ok well this is my first post so please bare with me. This is on our 1995 fullsize single cab 4wd hd pickup. We are in the process of putting a new transfercase on it but we are unsure if the transfercases are the same. The Transfercase we are going to put in is out of a 1992 GMC fullsize.

 

So what are all the transfercase differences and will a 1992 fit a 1995? or are the splines different?

We'll need some more info from you. Are the trucks the same series (1500,2500)? Can you get the model numbers for the t'case? I don't think the wheelbase matters, but make sure the tailshafts are the same length. My guess is the front outputs will be on the same sides, but it doesn't hurt to double check.
