2001 4.8 hard to start when engine is cold have to put your foot on the foot petal for 1 to 2 minutes and then the engine will run fine then it will restart and run fine

From that little bit it sounds to me like your ECT (engine coolant temperature) Sensor. If they go bad the temp reading pegs low and the engine floods (with excess fuel) when you crank it. To "dechoke" an EFI engine you push the "foot pedal-lol" all the way down after the key is on, this stops the fuel injectors while cranking so the engine dries up enough to start. Once an engine warms up it's harder to flood it.
