I read that the gm bankrupcy is being blown out of proportion! Ive read that they are only 1/4 of the requirements for filing chapter 11, and that wall street is blowing it out! I read it at some finance report. Thats not saying they have no problems they are a troubled company! There is hope for the mighty General!

I agree with you,Granted GM is in trouble,as is Ford, but I don't think its as bad as some of the media is leading on to believe.

If it's that bad,GM will just do more job cuts or cut health benefits and pensions.

Working at a GM dealer I see and hear all kinds of things,I have a buddy that works for GM as an area parts rep.,he already had some of his benefits cut,he seemed pretty confident GM would be OK though. But who knows, that could all change tomorrow.

No one claimed GM was headed to bankruptcy, other than the news media and news analysts, who tend to feed with frenzy like sharks in bloodied water when a corporate giant has a major stumble.

GM has deep pockets, But they are bleeding.

Top managers have reconized that they have to do something now to prevent a total collapse of the company.

GM has sold various divisions to raise capital, they also have sold off some of there loans from there GM finance to various banking inst. for quick cash infusion.

They will close plants and layoff employees. change health care provisions. change benifits for current employees and retirees)

The current position of the Big 3 was seen a few years ago by industry experts. the big three lost the small car, bread and butter "family car" market, Luxury car market AND the final nail in the coffin the Full SIZE truck & suv EXCLUSIVE market to the Imports (don't go there telling me that Tundras & Titans are made in the USA, The American Dollar still ends up in foreign soil)

GM will survive, It just won't be the same company as in past.
