manik grill gaurd install

planning on installing a manik on my new 1500hd manik dealer told me the hd manik's use the same grillgaurd. being the 2500 bumper is taller this makes the install on the 1500hd look odd. in other words the one for the 1500 silverado contour's the bumper, the one for the 1500hd doesn't. their trying to use the same grillgaurd for both trucks. anyone installed this setup ? how does it look? is it noticable?       thanks

I had the same grill guard on my (now sold) 2000 ext-cab.  I was a little surprised when I got the guard in the mail, as the uprights curve below the bumper.  Most grill guards on the 1500s stop at the bottom of the airdam.  It still looks ok, but it became the low spot on my 2 wheel drive.  The guard comes with 2 sets of brackets (1 set for the HDs and 1 set for the 1500s).  I actually sold mine to my dad for his 2001 2500HD.  I think it actually looks better on the 2500 than it did on mine.  It looks like it actually was made for the 2500.

 

If the 1500HD frame and mounting is like the 2500hd, I would recommend the guard.  If not, go with a WAAG.
