Rear View Mirror

Hi - I have a 2002 more or less base silverado with the basic rear view mirror in the cab. No console, no power windows or locks. If I buy an electro-chrome mirror with compass and temp off e-bay or used somewhere what's involved in hooking it up.

 

For example, is the wiring or plug already in the headliner? Can you buy the connecting harness relatively cheap from GM - well at least separate?

 

Just looking to tinker on the truck a little

I just installed one these Gentex mirrors in my 02. It is the auto dimming/compass model...the temp sensor is not there, but the wiring harness was stuck up under the headliner above the console. All I had to do was plug it in...I love not having to run new power and ground wires. I'm not sure if your's will be pre-wired...I have an LS with power everything.
