Speedometer Acting Up

The wife's Trailblazer speedometer was acting crazy the other day, then finally stoped working at all. The next time she got in it and drove it the darn thing worked fine. I know the speedometers are a sensor now a days. Could it be getting LOW voltage from the battery or something.

Sounds like a new instrument cluster is in your wife's TB's future. Is the TB still under warranty? If so, contact dealer and get them to put in writing what it is doing. That way there will be a record.

Not in warranty any longer. It does it only every now and then so I was wondering if it might be a loose wire. How detailed is an Instrument Cluster?

They are pretty detailed, or just getting that one part fixed is. There are plenty of places that you can get new clusters for about 250-300, or have it repaired for 80-150. One such place is SOT Electronics in Concord, California. www.sotelectronics.com or you can call them at 1-800-442-4491

The guy that repairs and upgrades the GM clusters is Chris Jenter. He can talk to you and tell you what might be the problem and how much and how long it would take to fix it.
