Steering Clunk still there...

Well I brought my truck in last weak about the steering clunk.... and although it seems better it is still there. They only greased the steering shaft. Well I got to looking/poking around and I noticed that if you look under the dash the steering shaft has a large plastic/Teflon ring. I can literally grab onto the shaft on wiggle it around and it appears to me that the noise I hear is coming from this plastic/Teflon ring having too much play. Can some of you guys check out your truck to see if they have this play. The shaft seems to wiggle at least 1/8 of an inch in all directions.

I can get some photos if it will help identify the area I am talking about.

i replaced the gray colored plasitc bearing on the shaft located on the collumn under the dash. Had a clunking noise at very low speeds on my nbs 2500. I think the part was dealer only and was between 15 and 25 dollars. Of course this was 4 years ago. The clunk went away, didnt take but maybe 1 hour to do, you have to drop the collunm down and slide it part way out, later the shaft that goes through the fire wall went bad so i changed that.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it and how much did it set you back cost-wise? My truck is slowly getting worse and I don't want to have to waste time making multiple trips to the dealership  .
