Truck Bed Tool Box Recomendations

Well,

Now that I'm in the process of actually making some progress on my truck one thing I'd definitely like to pick up is a decent tool box. It doesn't have to be anything super fancy. Just has to suit my needs.

Some things I'm looking for:

- I would prefer below-the-rail design

- Black in color since my truck has little chrome on it. So, material isn't a big priority. Metal or plastic is fine.

- Decent weather protection. It doesn't have to be a sterile environment. But, since some of my power tools will be stored in the box and it rains here a lot I would like it to stay dry.

- Low cost. I've spent way too much on other parts. So, I don't want my tool box to be a huge investment. I'm not snobby. If you tell me the tool boxes they sell at Wal-Mart fit my needs I'd have no problem buying one. lol.

Well, I hope that list isn't too hard to fill. I'd really appreciate recomendations based on your experiences. Thanks.

I actually found a diamond plated one for sale on the front yard of this guys house as I was driving by. It turns out it was an over the rail for an S10.......actually worked out perfect because I wanted an under rail box and I didn't want a monster size one and this one fit perfectly width wise between my rails(my truck is a 1500)........so I just had some diamond plated brackets made and its fits just right and flush with my rails with about 6 inches of space underneat it. So I can still slide stuff under it and use the full length of my box...........everything cost me 100bucks. So you may want to explore boxes for S10's and get some brackets made.......could save you some money and get the fit you are looking for.... :jester:

Cool. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into that idea. I'm afraid the selection available here in Hawaii will be the problem I run into. Always seems that way. lol.
