Thanks Man :jester::tear:

I think the Ridgeline is a toy, its a Honda for gods sake. It was designed just for someone who already has an Accord but just wanted something that you may call a truck to park in the driveway. Thats just my .02.

I just think that it's a joke how all this has played out, with this truck receiving the Truck of the Year status and then it's production is most likely gonna go down since it hasn't been selling as anticipated. It definitely shows how biased Motor Trend and Consumer Reports is. The people have spoken.

I think if the Avy got rid of that hideous peice of plastic on it back, it would do a lot better...

But ya, Ridgeline is not up to par with what Honda expected, not selling well and it gets rave reviews. Another reason I don't buy car/truck magazines, bias lying POS. I check one out in store just to get looks at new cars/trucks.

Okay , so I am going to break ranks here for a second and offer this perspective.

Honda entered the SUV/SUT realm late.....real late. Had they jumped in the mid 90s when the Subaru Outback and Ford Explorer were on fire, they could have ground out a space in this market before the gas prices rose. Even Subaru blew it with the introduction of the mini-Avalanche.....the Baja.

No surprise gas prices have people rethinking their car purchases. So the crossover crowd that might have taken to the Ridgeline didn't come over. Ridgeline wasn't really targeted at the traditional truck audience anyway.

I love my truck - a lot. But I have grown to appreciate less is more. So when I rattle around in my VW Rabbit convertible the job gets done for the commute and I am happy about it (well, except for the no cupholder thing). And I appreciate my Suburban's luxury when we take it out for weekends and larger group hauling.

Ridgeline was meant to be a bridge between the Honda cars and the American trucks. In design it actually accomplished this elegantly. But the fact remains that they have missed the window that would have led to larger volumes.

That's always has been Honda's style. They see what everyone else has done and basically come up with a product that basically raises the bar for everyone (ie come to the party late). Just look at the Odyssey, Pilot, and MDX.

In regards to the Ridgeline, it has some new design features that are revolutionary:) the composite bedliner, the multi-function tail gate, independent front & rear suspension, the inbed (or should I say underneath) trunk, and unibody construction. Unfortunately, the Ridgeline has three drawbacks: 1) the only engine available is a V6 2) it only comes in AWD, no FWD or RWD version offered 3) its overall size is a problem - its a midsize truck - its bed is only 5' long, and 4) its price is very high. Here in Canada a well equipped Ridgeline sells for about $43000 CDN. I can get a fully loaded Sierra Z71 for the same price and it will exceed the Ridgeline in towing and hauling capability. Similar results with Ford, Dodge, and Toyota.

Based on the news with the Ridgeline, It didn't surprise me that it is not doing well. Honda should have developed full-size truck, instead of getting into the mid-size truck market.

The Ridgeline can reap all the accolades from the automotive press, but what counts is the bottomline - sales.

The composite bed is not revolutionary on Honda's part. GM offered a composite bed on on the 99+ Silverado/Sierra.

Multifunction mid-gate, again not revolutionary. The Avalanche was still first. Honda just added a power window section to the rear glass.

The word probably should be evolutionary...but in Honda's (and for Nissan) case just leap frogging in feature enhancements. Every manufacturer does it with their new replacement models.

Isn't the composite bed on the Avalanche? I don't think the Sierra/Silverado had this option back in 99 when GM introduced the current generation of these trucks.
