Rear Brakes done

Recommended Posts

I have had the new drums, shoes and spring set for about two weeks, but its been to darn cold. We had a few days this week that were a balmy 40 degrees F, so I did it.

I have replaced disk brakes several times, but this was my first time doing drums. I just made sure I did one at a time, so I could look at the other wheel as reference. It was a piece of cake! :flag:

My old shoes and drums were in bad shape, and It was tough to get the drivers side apart. Now that its done, the truck stops a lot stronger.

You have to love the satisfaction of doing a job yourself!! :banghead:

I just replaced all my pads, turned the front rotors and my back rotors were junk, so they needed to be replaced. I almost forgot how nice it is to drive a truck with good brakes!!

Any pictures with those wheels on yet??

I can't believe I put up with my old brakes for so long...

Man, I am loving the wheels! I have got to get the truck cleaned up and post a picture or two ( and change my avatar). You set me up right Elwood!

I just picked up a jar of MOTHERS... now all we need is a few warm days!

You said it! I have "cabin fever" so bad I can't stand it. I am READY for spring!

Why don't you guys move down here to Texas? I hate to rub it in but it's been in the 60's and 70's almost all winter long! :flag:

Because I love the Snow! Until about now, then I love the spring! Just wait until August when your sitting in 103F and I am on the dunes with a 78F Lake Michigan breeze blowing across my back window...

I don't know what I would do with out four seasons.

I would LOVE to move to North Carolina, but I think we are going to get closer to Champaign and the U of I. Great schools for the kids over there and that town has about everything we need, except for a warm winter!

103F is all the more reason to drink a 34F beer! I'm a letter carrier and I'm done with snow although it has it's purposes. I'd rather have 103F, ladies in bikinis and an ice cold Bud!

Yea...I agree. My mother lived in Pennsylvania for a couple years and I'd visit over Christmas. Snow and cold weather suck. It was fun for like a day, then I missed good ol' Houston.

It's hard to beat sitting by the pool in July with the girlfriend drinkin' Margaritas and eatin' burgers.

But ours are all natural in Texas.

I'll wager a 30-pack on that! :)
