Nasta Step's vs. Westin

Hey guys...I tried to get this answered earlier but i never really got what i was looking for.

 

The whole idea here is that i am buying chrome step up bars for my truck and i need some clarification.

 

I have narrowed my search down to Nasta and Westin

 

What is the difference between Westins Platinum series and their Signiture series...

 

Why is Nasta's step ups (that have the same material and features) so much less expensive than Westins?

 

I need advice here guys...i dont want to feel like an idiot after i pay $100 extra for the westins and find out they are the same as the Nasta's and your just buying a name...then again i dont want to cheap out of the Westins and find out my mistake to late...?/

The difference between Westin's Signature and Platinum series is mainly that the Signature series black powdercoated bars are made of plain carbon steel that will rust if the coating is damaged. And the stainless Signature series bars are just polished, not chromed. All Platinum series, whether chromed or powder coated are made of 304 stainless steel.

 

In my opinion, the best deal in Westin line is a set of Signature series polished stainless bars. They are not chromed, but they will not rust. If you go with Platinum series, you get chromed stainless steel (or black powdercoated stainless, your choice)

Well i coughed up the $400 for the Westin Platinum Series Stainless Steel ones....The lifetime warranty is what sold me...I will post some pics and reveiws once i get them

Where did you buy the Westin's from?

 

Nasta's should be lifetime as well, but maybe not as reputable a name as Westin. Let us know how they work out.

I've had a set of the Nasta all stainless on my truck since Christmas of 2004. I am nothing short of completely satisfied. It is my understanding they are made in Bristol TN. I know Westin is a super brand, but I wouldn't change a thing about my nerfs....completely satisfied with the Nastas.

 

One of the biggest advantages with the Nasta in my opinion was the all stainless, even on mounting hardware, they offered as compared to anyone else. If you are in "salt country" this is an added benefit. Below is a pic of a clean truck (I wish winter would end soon) to give an idea of the Nasta's look.

I didn't read the posts clearly enough. I realize you decided on the Westins. Wouldn't have chimed in with praises of the Nasta's, best of luck with your new nerfs.

I have the Westins and like them alot. To me nothing finishes off a 4x4 like slightly larger tires and nerf bars.

Anybody know who supplies the OEM nerf bars for GM trucks? These bars are all stainless steel, either black powder coated or chromed. They are good quality, but expensive.
