i have a 2004 4.8 1500. i am planning to swap the muffler out, maybe with flowmasters or borla and keep the stock size piping and reroute the tip to the front of the rear passeanger tire. i might order a muffler online, i was wondering what the stock piping size is and what size and offset i need to get. thanks

how are hooker mufflers?

Stock size is 2 3/4", reason being both 3" and 2.5" inlet mufflers will weld right up.

I'm a fan of dynomax myself, if you're going for loud, but filtered, might i suggest a dynomax bullet, $40 at summit racing, had one on my camaro and loved it.

I have a 2003 4.8 sierra z71 with dual hooker magnaflow mufflers...I have been more than happy with there performance and the sound is quite at idle but has a nice deep sound when you get into the throttle. definately doesn't have the redneck glasspack sound.
