Jet-X Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Got in the truck this morning and turned on the wipers. Driver's side works, passenger side twiches and quits. Does this have a mechanical link to the drivers side, or are both motor driven?
GM-Tech Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Only one motor. The nut on the arm has probably worked loose. Maybe just tightening it up will be all you need.
Jet-X Posted March 13, 2006 Author Posted March 13, 2006 Good point. I just had my windshield replaced a few months ago and remember they had to remove the arms. I'll check it when I get home tonight. Thanks... Only one motor. The nut on the arm has probably worked loose. Maybe just tightening it up will be all you need. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
GerryMoeller Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 You might want to try a little Loctite also to help keep it from happening again, medium strength should do.... Also check drivers side too to make sure its not loose too.
Jet-X Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 GM-TECH was right, it was a loose nut on the wiper arm. Gerry, Yup, that was my first thought. I applied some loctite 242 to both wipe arm nuts. Passenger side was loose as well. That should hold until the next windshield replacement....
