Flo Pro Mufflers?

Recommended Posts

I am now thinking of exhaust for my truck. I am looking at the flopro mufflers. Specifically the Big Oval mufflers. What I was thinking was doing 2 into 1 muffler and then 2 back out with 1 pipe coming out behind each tire at a 45. I'm not looking for the truck to be loud, just a nice sound. Should I go with the stock replacement of 3 in 3 out or drop it down to say a 2 1/2 on the exit side? Anyone know what a FloPro muffler costs by chance?

Here is a link to the muffler

And here is a link to the sounds. It is the 11 sound down on the page.

I've got the FloPro 2503 on my '04 2500 non-HD. I went with that muffler since it was supposed to be quiet at cruise. It is quiet at cruise, it's quiet at idle, and it's quiet all the time. The engine makes more noise than the muffler. I was ready to spend the bucks on a Corsa, but they don't make one for the 1500HD / 2500 series, but they do make one for the 2500HD's.

The 2504 muffler is a 2 in and 2 out, it's supposed to be louder than the 2503. You might want to go that route if you want some noise; how loud, I don't know.

On a side note: When I was at the Los Angeles Car Show, I was talking to a Flowmaster rep and asked him if they make a muffler for the 6.0 that won't make your ears bleed. He told me that the 70 series with a resonator on the left pipe before the muffler was the way to go. That will get rid of the resonance and drone. I don't know if it really works, but that's what FM recommends.

Good luck on your hunt,

SS
