Transfer case??

Hello, I have a 04 Silvy with the manual 4 wheel drive trans. case. I noticed I have a little play in it. I can wiggle it about 1/2 inches from front to back. I looked underneath the truck everything seems to be tight. Also, under heavy acceleration it seems to rub on the gears inside the case making a faint noise almost like a detonation noise. It took awile to find what was making the noise but if I pull back a little on the shaft the noise stops. I took it in to the dealer and they said everything is seems good. But, I dont think it's normal for it to rub on anything under heavy acceleration. I know it hasn't always done this. I am the original owner. The truck 27,000 miles on it. Should I be concearned? Any help on this will be appreciated.
