no cable recall for me

Some of you might know I bought my truck used, in Jan. I went to Mandall GMC yesterday to get an oil change and service. I asked about the recall for the tailgate cables since one of mine has been broken since I bought it. He ran my vin and said my truck didn't qualify.

huh?

how does this recall work?

my cable is clearly broken and looks like it broke under stress, but no recall.

I'm calling the GM # tomarrow.

1999 NBS or OBS?

 

NBS should be coverd for the cable recall but the OBS is not covered.

 

Fairly cheap to replace the cables if you have to pay out of pocket.

 

GMC customer service is 1-866-790-5600

 

Good luck they are not very helpful and they deflect issues more than help.
