I want to download and install a new skin. I have downloaded it, saved it on my desktop and now don't know how to get it to work.

Sorry for a dumb question, but I thought this would be a very simple thing. Maybe I need to go to bed and try again in the morning?? LOL

Thanks!

Easiest way that I know of is to drag and drop it.

Close FF, then drag the extension (skin) icon onto the FF icon.

That's how I installed all my extensions.

Hope that helped. :chevy:

Little confused here by differences in terminology....

If you are looking to use a skin, how I usually refer to a skin, just changing the appearance of Firefox then they call it a theme. Just click Tools then Themes and a small application pops up that lets you chose between the themes you have installed.

If you are looking at adding an extension, which is adding a feature or another running program in the Mozilla interface, then you can do what Wingnut said.

Yea the whole "theme" thing makes it a litle more confusing. Most people call em skins. That skin downloaded into your "theme" menu. Should be able to just select it there.

Firefox does rule though huh?

Thanks for the help, but it did not download into my"Themes" menu. For some reason, it ended up on my desktop, without my choosing.

?????????

d**n computers, I am going to get my hammer!! LOL

Did you download it from the FIrefox website using Firefox?

When I do it it goes straight to the my themes thing in the toolbar.

OK, I need the hammer for my head!

I just noticed a little bar on top that says to click on edit options and allow the installation. I did, but I see nothing there that should prevent the download or installation.

What should I be set at to allow the installation??

Thanks so much!!!
