Chip for the 5.3?

Anyone out there have a chip that they are happy with for the 5.3L? Improvements ?? How do the mods affect the vehicles life?

I have a Wester's Garage tune and am thrilled with it. My truck performs better than ever and would definately do it again.

While I have not owned any of the others, I have been told that a custom tune delivers results way beyond the handheld tuners like Hypertech and Superchips can do.

There are group buys here once in a while and a lot of people here with a Custom tune from different companies. I have not run into very many people who didn't like the results of a tune.

There havent been any "chips" since 1996 on trucks but the PCM's are reprogrammable now a days. Called flash programming.

No,Unfortunatly no increase at all

But I did see a heck of a power increase though

Man, if you think a Hypertech gave you that much of an increase, you should try a tune. My Hypertech did a better job as a paperweight.

I had a Hypertech on my '05 5.3L and it was ok. I then got a "mail order tune" and what a difference!

If you want ease of use and small gains I have a Like New Hypertech I can sell you. If you want real power you have to go to a tune like Wester's or get up on the Dyno like i did.
