Fuel pump time(it's over)

I like many others here have been using my trip meter to keep up with milage because gas gauge died at about 60000 miles, well last friday fuel pump died at 80MPH on freeway!!! Can someone say yepiiiiiiiiie!!! And best of all 150 miles from home!!!!! Only good thing (I think) it finally stopped rolling about 1 mile from a Chev dealer. Towed to dealership at 2:30 pm left shop at 5:30 and even got my tailgate cables replaced at the same time. Truck now has 111000 miles on it and now that the gas gauge works its just like a new truck.

I was 4 hours from home one day in the dead of winter, most of my ride was Highway in Northern New Hampshire.Pulled into a small town, close to the end of my drive and it died (Fuel pump ). Turned out to be 1 mile from a chevy dealer too. I was on a snowmobile trip, and they had it ready by the time I got off the trails for the day....Sweet.

 

Not to mention the guy that GAVE me his truck to continue on to my drop zone, didnt even know him.

How much was the bill ? If you dont mind me asking..

I had been told by a local shop it would be about $750.00 and then when it when out I had to be towed in and out the door it was $749.xx so I guess that I did alright. I did tip the mechanic $20.00 for doing the job and working over. It was the least I could do.

did you have a full tank of fuel too? for some reason they always go with a full tank...

No it was not all the way full, I had driven about 150 miles but when I filled it up with no guage I always filled it to the top of the neck because I hated to run out.
