What to do with wheel?

Went to get the tires rotated on our 2000 Suburban (4x4. premium ride suspension) and one of the wheels was split at one of the mounting holes.  GM wants $500 for a new wheel just like the other three, but that's a ridiculous price.  If anyone has a single wheel that they would be willing to sell, or even a pair, please email me.  Or would it be best to find a suburban in a parts yard?  But I was also curious as to what would be a good place to get aftermarket wheels for the truck if I can't find a single wheel at a decent price.

I don't know where you live, or exactly what wheel you need from your post, but Jon (chevy4x4trucks) has a set of 4 steel wheels with center caps on his "Lots of stuff for sale..." topic in the For Sale/Wanted forum on this board.

 

Another source is E-bay.

 

Have you put more than 36,000 miles on, or are the wheels somehow excluded from the warranty?  It would seem to me that GM owes you a free one.

Obviuosly you have had the tires rotated previously...

Are the Technicians using torque sticks at the facility

where you get service. Alloy/ Aluminum rims don't spilt/crack at the mounting whole, they crack near the tire , usually on

the mounting bead or across one of the spokes, or face.

I'm hoping that the service was a a reputable service center where you may raise a litle concern. Best of luck!
