I need help with a topic i can't seem to get from anone else. i have installed HID conversion kits on my low beams and they work great. i have a 01 jimmy small one, with 4.3L v6 w code, lowbem/high beam/foglightes in the same assembly but seperate lenses and bulbs. the only problem is now with the hid's in the low beam, they come on with the drl's, which are detuned high beam lites. a tech support person said, that the low beams are detuned with a diode/circuit that with halogen bulbs is not enough to power the low beams on drl, but the HID conversion get enough voltage to kick the ballast and converter to light the low beams. first, is he close to the right answer, and second, besides bending pins on the drl relay, is there a safe, correct way to disable drl without wearing out my dome light button. i live in south florida and drl's are not required, and disabling them is leagal now.

thanks in advance.

cheezhead.
