HOOD WONT OPEN !!!!!

Hi guys!

so the problem is, that my hood wont open up on my 94 gmc c1500. the cable was disconnected from the hood latch a few years ago because it was inoperable, so a coat hanger was than installed as the temp. hood release. The problem is that the hanger broke off. How am I suppose to get the hood open now?

Try pounding on it, sometimes you get lucky. If you can see where the cable used to go you could try stabbing at it with something. Being a little pessimistic here it probably won't be easy, it's engineered to be somewhat secure with out "popping" it.

Would it maybe be easier to get the latch open from underneath the truck? Just a possibility, i had a vehicle that did the same thing to me, and I opened the latch from underneath the vehicle. It was not a truck, so I could reach the latch with my hand, you might have some distance issues. It's a possibility.

Get somebody who has a similar truck to open their hood so you can examine the inner workings. Maybe something will click (in your head) and you'll come up with a plan.
