1999 P1345

I have a 1999 C1500 with a 4.3 V6. It has a P1345 code in it. Has a lack of power and making a noise from time to time. Start 2 weeks after I replaced the coil and had a backfire. Where to look?

You either have a worn distributor gear or a worn timing chain or off a tooth. I would bet you have a timing chain off a tooth from the info.

truck has 104,000 on it. I tried moving the distributor 1 tooth and it would not start. I was hoping it was not the timing chain.

These are known for worn distributor gears. Pull the distributor and I think you'll find the teeth of the gear are worn so badly they're almost razor sharp.

The gear looked ok when I had it out. I will reinspect, if it is good would you say Timing chain?
