Truck not going anywhere, need help

I got a tune for my 2001 chevy pickup from wait4me about 8 months ago. My wife is driving it, and she has had a couple of problems with and I was wondering if you all have had anything happen to any of your trucks like this. The problem is that whenever she is stopped at a stoplight and she hits the gas, the engine makes a noise and it doesnt go anywhere. She says she puts it in park and then drive again and then it takes off. This has happenend only three times in the last six months. Was wondering if you guys have any insight on this. Should I maybe put the stock tune back in and see if it does it again. Thanks for your help.

Sounds to me like your transmission might be slipping. If your at a dead stop and you press the gas for a second and the vehicle doesn't go anywhere, it might be your transmission slipping out of gear then engaging.

Mine has done something similar but only a few time a year. I come to a stop. Hit gas, truck won't go, hit gas harder, starts to move, then downshifts into first with a slight bang. I have learned to let off the gas before it slams into first. It has happened when my truck was stock, after the trans was rebuilt, and after the wait4me tune so I don't think it is related to the tune. I've never gotten a good explanation and the dealer "could not duplicate" so I ignore it. 167K now with no issues.

It has only happened three times. But it has happened twice in the past two weeks. My wife thinks it has to do something when the pavement is wet. I have no idea. If anything

I will start driving it again.
