Aux connector information

Hello All,

I am trying to add an auxilary connector to the factory AM/FM/CD radio in my '96 Suburban. I have been told that the aux connector on the back of the radio is only for a remote cassette tape deck.

Since the standard aux adapter the GM9-AUX requires a radio with CD changer controls, I am guessing that the adapter convers the analog audio to digital to be converted back at the radio.

Assuming that the remote cassette is not digital, there should be a simple way to rig up an aux adapter to work.

Does anyone know what the pinout and functions of the 9-pin aux connector on the back of the OEM radio?

Thanks for all your help.

I think I have found the connections in the 9-pin harness.

In no particular order:

pwr

gnd

L Audio

R Audio

Fast Forward

Rewind

Tape in

Lights

play direction

Does anyone know the order and characteristics of these connections?

Aaron
