I just bought my 06' sierra on april 29th and was wondering how many people are running E85 and how it is effecting their mileage. I will probably run E85 no matter what it does to mileage just because I'd rather give money to farmers than some price gouging oil company. I just figured I'd ask for some of your opinions on it.

no opinions I guess. well anyway I talked to my girlfriends brother (works at a chevy dealer) and he said alot of people running E85 are bringing their vehicles in because of clogged injectors among other problems, I guess there is also a TSB about a cold start issue while running E85.

No problem with clogged injectors here on my '05. However, I have had a 2 M/G drop in town. I don't like that.

The feds and local govts steal more from users of gasoline per gallon. Do you really know what the profit margin is for the oil companys on 1 gallon of gas? About 10 cents. Another example of the lack of education of people on this subject.

Just bought a 06 GMC and i use E85. I wat getting 16.7 with reguler and 12.5 with E85. I just have over 600 miles on it and I live 10 miles form town so it is mix driving only use it on the weekends. I drive and F250 for work daily dont have to pay gas for that.

I can run both in the truck, when i pick it up from dealer it had reguler in it after i ran is out i put e85 in it. I only ran one tank of reguler in it and two tanks of e85.

Well so far there are no E-85 pumps in my area - nearest is an hour away - but I'd be interested in giving it a whirl when it does become available locally...

I run it, and I like it. It's $40 cents cheaper a gallon, and I loose about 2 MPG in town and on the highway. I can live with that.

No difference in power, no engine problems yet.

One other good thing about E85, far fewer emissions. You gotta like that.

I think Hydrogen is the future. It might be 10 years down the road but it does make sense.

Hydrogen may be coming down the road, but it's not as feasable right now as ethanol. There was an article in Fortune about it here: Ethanol article

All the infrastructure is in place for shipping and transportation of ethanol. Filling stations just need to do some modifications/install some equipment to handle the ethanol (more corrosive) and dedicate a pump or two (like they do now for diesel) and it will become more available. The auto makers are beginning to make more flex-fuel vehicles, more ethanol refineries are being built, etc. Just takes time.
