ford triton 5.4

im hearing a bunch of people talk about racin the hemis but anybody race a 5.4 f-150 and if u did with what, and did ya win , taker easy

No, but in my old truck (99 z71 reg cab, stock except for exhaust) i did race a ford mustang, 60's model...somehow i beat him off the line and was about a length ahead of hime the entire time. Also raced a tuned dodge dakota sport, he got me off the line but never really pulled away.

Oh yeah, also raced one of the ford v10's, beat it...those things are slow as heck!!

The newer 3 valve 5.4 with more power is actually slower, due to the extra weight of the new truck design. SO I HAVE BEEN TOLD. But the older 5.4 is faster than the newer one supposedly.

Ive got a 5.4L in my '99 F-150 and its a nice engine. It makes it's power at low rpms, which is what you want in a truck.

Ive never raced it but its never lacking for power, thats for sure.

Yes, i beat one at the track a few weeks ago. He said it was stock aside from the exhaust. Didnt seem like a bad truck, not a real big fan of the new body style though. I think he pulled a high 15 second run, might have been low 16's, not terrible for a stock truck.
