Wet Floor

So I was fixing some of my wiring mess for my CB radio, and I moved some wires under the carpeting... well the padding underneath it is SOAKED... now I do not know if it is from the winter(I.E. snow melting from boots/shoes and getting floor wet) or I have a leak somewhere... Any recommendations... Also should I take it out the dry out?? or something??

Drivers side or passenger?

 

Drivers side I would say it's from snow etc. from boots. Passenger side possible heater core leaking? doubt it but you never know. Does it just smell like water or does it have a hint of antifreeze? Only factory holes into the cab I'm aware of is your cab air intake (i.e. squirrel cage) and the rubber gromets that the wires come in at.

 

I have found that when floors get wet the NEVER dry out on their own. Take it out and throw it over a fence or something.

Or go the Jeeper route--rip out the carpet and get it Line-X'ed!

I think just drying it out once in the spring is a good idea. Especially the driver's side.

Ya it's on the drivers side.... with no odor at all. I am supprised it does not dry out on it's own.... Have not had snow here in over a month... Seems like a bit of a pain to get it out to do it every spring, but I suppose it may be worth it.

I think it soaks thru the supposedly waterproof carpet, but then since the carpet's waterproof, it can't get back out. I bet everybody who lives in the snow belt has the same wet padding on the drivers side.
