bezerk Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 first we had a k1500 ext. cab 1995, and we traded it in for a k2500 crewcab 2003. going from ext. to a crew is a world of difference, but the ride in the back, is hard. is there somekind of airride supension, so you can eliminate a few leafs on the rear leaf spring setup, and put an air ride supension on, so the ride becomes more smoother, and adding a sway bar for better control with the air ride suspension? can't believe that i am the only one experiencing this, so there must be a package for sale somewhere
BlackSilver Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 A 2500HD is intended for serious hauling, and it will ride like a truck. Taking out springs will destroy it's load carrying ability, and adding air bags will make it even stiffer. You want smooth ride, get a girly 1500 truck.
Draenor Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 If you are not huling any weight in the back, you could lower the air in the rear tires a PSI or two. It should give some relief, but it will still give you a stiff ride.
bummed-n-Md Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 put a couple hundred pounds in the bed (about 300 is good). It puts a little flex into the springs and and makes the rear end less susceptable to bumps in the road (the rear doesn't bounce freely). also, like was just posted, drop the rear pressure a few. (others have said go as low as 55). works for me. bummed.
alman Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 The Rancho air shocks do a go job too. You can get the in-dash adjustable ones

4x4in Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 What about Velvet Ride shackles? Are they still around? I heard they make a big difference. I am interested in finding a set myself.
