new guy from fresno

Hello out there. I have been a loyal Chevy guy for 35+ years. I am on my second S10 Blazer (2003) with 42,000 miles on it. It hase been a great truck untill 2 weeks ago. About 2 weeks ago I had to fill the coolant res. since it was empty, with Dexcool. I went back out this week and had to fill it again. I started the truck and it sounded like the engine was trying to swap the pistons. Needless to say there was a half gallon of Dexcool in my crank case. I have the GM extended warranty, and it is going to be interesting to see what happens. Any suggestions? Thanks

welcome

If you had to add coolant twice it is possible that the intake manifold gaskets are leaking and most of the time they leak external so check at the front corners but sometines they also leak internal remove the oil cap and see if there is any moisture and also look to see if it looks llike choc.milk then check the dip stick for the same choc.milk and that will usally tell you if the leak is going into the oil.
