I honestly have no need for 4X4, but I use it sometimes when out playing in the sand/dirt/mud.  It is useful when I go home on leave to WV in the winter time, but even then, I wouldn't have to have it.  When growing up, we were able to go everywhere we needed in dad's 2wd trucks.  Just added a little weight in the back.

I put once a week since I do use it at least that on some of the old sandy back roads around here about that much.  That stuff gets deep in some places!

I had to vote never, but I didn't get my truck for the looks.

I got it due to the good deal and because I was in snow country.

I only get to use mine every couple of months.  To busy to go out and use it more often, wish I could though.  The thing is being in a city there isn't any good places around anymore to go 4x4ing that are close by.  All of the close places are either now paved or have a few thousand homes built on top of them.  But when I have time to drive out of the city there is alot of desert to play in, the problem is not time.  But I also got the 4x4 in ancipatation of when I move after I get out of school, cause I am planning on being in snow country.

I try to at least engage 4-lo once a month.  Early in my "driving career" someone told me that it would keep any debris off the gears.  It would also assure me that everything functioned in case I ever "needed it".

This is only the second 4wd truck I have had since I've been driving.  Quite frankly I don't really need 4wd since I live in town.  The only times I've used 4wd have been when it snowed here, and some during hunting season.  I occasionally take it to a couple of trails near here to do some light off roading, but that is about it.  I didn't get it for the looks, but I got it for resale value.  Around here, 4wd will retain a higher percentage of their value compared to the equivalent 2wd. ???

I found the 4wd very useful in very heavy rain on the twisty rural highways on the way home from Branson.  It really tamed the truck and it felt much more sure-footed.

I haven't used it much since it's summer, but I'm sure I'll be using it a LOT in the winter.  I'll also use it when it rains so heavily that the truck feels unstable and slippery.

I don't NEED 4wd since I know I could get around in a heavily weighted-down 2wd in winter, but I like knowing that I have it.  Plus, I'm too lazy to load the bed full of sandbags anyway.  I can't think of a single purpose for 4-LO, so I'm seriously considering a conversion to AWD using a Denali/Escalade transfer case.  That way it will have traction in all driving conditions, even dry pavement.  Best part of that is it's always there, so I don't have to slip and slide before I'm reminded to put it into 4-HI (I don't have the Auto 4wd).

I use autotrac when it rains out (mainly a good reason to keep juice running in the front end)

I use 4Hi almost all winter (except this past when we had a mild winter)

Also use 4 hi when i go fishing.  Where i park at our cottage there is a large drop off and it is almost a straight up incline.  If the grass is slightly wet there is no way to get out with 2wd.

I put once a wk.  Id say once every 10 days i use it

4x4 is a must have here.  We can go from not taking it out all day to not using it for a couple weeks, it all depends on when it rains and creates mud.  We have to be able to get through our pasture in all conditions to sort cattle, doctor calves, fix fence, etc.  Four wheel is also really nice to have when driving through soft fields, sure it could be done in 2WD, but you would make one #### of a mess with those tires spinning and spinning, and making a mess in recently planted or emerged crop is not a good thing.  Living in a rural area having 4x4 is also damn good thing to have in the wintertime.  Our lane and roads drift like a SOB even with a little 2" snowfall, the truck is our only mode of transportation other than a tractor in times like that.

I think its safe to say the truck does not have 4x4 on it for looks around here.

I ended up clicking more than once a week since so far this spring we've been using it WAY more than we wish we had to since it WILL NOT STOP RAINING!!!

I might go a long time without using it.

But during hunting season, i really never know what the ranch will look like and i might need it bad

I also go to the coast alot during the summer and fall, and use it in the deep sand.

Im glad i have it.

I usually go all summer in 2wd, except for the occasional visit to camp.

In the winter I may use it once or twice a week, or sometimes all week. We get some nasty Lake effect snow here in Erie, PA and going to work at 4:30am sometime I'm out before the snowplows. That's when the real fun begins.  :P  :P  :but:  :but:    Rich

My wife and I are new to Colorado. We picked up a 4X4 book which details alot of the trails.

We try to hit at least 1 every other weekend.

A lot of fun, anyone in CO that would like to join in let me know.
