Off Road Red Posted June 22, 2002 Posted June 22, 2002 Hey guys i need advice on removing the alternator pulley on my 99 Chev. Is there a special tool or something?
Speide Posted June 23, 2002 Posted June 23, 2002 You need an impact wrench to remove alternator pullies. The last one I did I just pulled the alternator and ran it up to the auto parts store and they pulled it for free.
ClipperSkipper Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 I don't thing it was the nut, but removing the pulley itself. We use some specialty KD tools for the new serpentine pulley setups. Lappins or similar will loan these tools to you if you purchase a component there. Hope that this helps. Have a great one!
