2003 Tahoe (Ordered yesterday)

Well.....I ordered the 2003 Black 4x4 Tahoe yesterday.  LS with tan cloth interior.  It should be available for pick up 30 September.  I added the skid plate, third row with liftgate, 5.3 motor, trailor pkg, bench seat.  Ran me $36,708 via Overseas Military Car Sales.  It's a lot of money for me but I think it's cheaper than if I had bought it off a car lot.  Looks like the 2003 will come with tri-zone AC, audio controls on the wheel and no face lift.  The sales rep. didn't know anymore than that.  It's an annex office at a military base in Honduras so they couldn't all the questions I would have if I were in the U.S.

Q's:

I must go back and sign the final paperwork on Mon, anything else I should consider ordering?

Are all 5.3 motors Flex Fuel capable?

What should be my first mods?

Possible to get the upgraded 6 CD player or do I have to go with the single CD?

The biggest tires I could get are 265/70 R16 BW All SeasonTouring Steel Belted Radials.  Isn't there a stock tire option with deeper tread?  Size 70's?  This all that came up on the computer.

Thanks,

Congrats on the purchase.  I am sure you will be very happy with the Tahoe.  I do believe that all of the engines in the Tahoes are regular gas and E85 capable engines, which is pretty cool.  As for tires, GM just doesn't offer any good deep treat AT or MT tires.  They only offer tires that are basically a street tread, but for most people's uses I guess that is okay.  You may just have to see how the stock tires do and then upgrade if needed.  Anyways, glad to hear they haven't put that horrible (IMO) face lift on the Tahoes yet.  Look forward to hearing how you like it when you receive it in Sept.

If flex fluel means either kind of fuel(reg and the other "safer burning" stuff, ALL GM truck V-8's were supposed to be that starting in either 2001, or 2002.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I looked over the paperwork all this past weekend to see if there was anything I still wanted to change.  Damn,  I really can't find anything.  Even my wife agrees to all the stuff we ordered.  We went back and forth about the utility of the size of the Suburban vs. the drawbacks of the size in parking lots etc... and still ended up selecting the Tahoe.  It just seemed a little more practical as faf a size.  After all we will only use the thrid row seat occasionally for kids.  Is ther price we got ($36,708) pretty good.  They say that they negociate them for us so there is no haggle room.
