The recirculation door actuator motor died on my '01 suburban. Took me forever to fine it. It is mounted on the side of the case where the door is. Probelm is I can't get my hand in there to get at the mount screw. Anyone been there or done that?

this happened on my 02 silverado.....I took out the glovebox and was able to just get my hands in there to get the screws off for the actuator. It is a tight fit but better than taking the dash off. I used a little mirror to see the bottom screws and just unplugged the actuator the I took a coat hanger and wired the recirc door closed. I did this about 2 yrs ago and it has worked great for me. I never liked the fact that the when you shut off the a/c and it was on recirc that it would open up the recirc door probably why mine wore out anyways. ac now works great and i dont get stinky air from outside in.......

The actuators for the HVAC systems in these trucks are total garbage. I had one replaced that controls the hot/cold blend door for the drivers temp. I'm about to have to replace another one.
