XM Radio Help

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I have a 2004 Tahoe Z71 with the 6-disc CD Changer that I recently bought used. I know that the truck has XM hardware installed because the XM antenna is on top of the truck, but I cannot get XM to tune up by pressing the "Band" button and cycling through the different options like the instructions say to do (it only shows FM1, FM2 and AM). Is there some other way to tune up XM that I'm not familiar with? Is it possible that the antenna is installed but the XM receiver is missing? Where would I look to try and find the receiver? Thanks for the help.

the xm receiver is behind the glove box. its a big silver thing. check the back of the radio and see if it is plugged in also. yes you should atleast get a preview channel on the xm. also on the 04 they had 2 antennas. one was for the xm and the other for onstar.

We have both antennas, one of them says XM on it. Do I need to remove the glove box to see the receiver? Thanks for the help.

just open the glove box all the way and look towards the drivers side. it should be right there.
