Header Installation on a 1995 K1500 5.0L

I am thinking about installing some Headman Elite ceramic coated long tube headers on my 1995 GMC K1500 5.0L pickup. Along with the headers I'm not sure about going true dual exhaust, i.e. 2 high flow cats, 2 performance mufflers and 2 tail pipes or a Y pipe into one high flow cat to one muffler to one tailpipe. The duals would be 2-1/2" and the single would be 3".

 

Does anyone have any experiences with these headers and or installing true duals on a mid 90's OBD I TBI engine?

I'm not positive, but I've heard that when installing true duals, you need to install an "H" pipe to keep the proper backpressure, and keep it equalized from one exhaust bank to the other exhaust bank. When I did my '96 5.0 Z-71, I went with Flow Tech Headers that bolted straight up to the factory "Y" pipe.
