Leveling Kits???

Got my first 4x4, 2004 2500HD and want to raise front end primarly for appearance not clearance. I've read in some rags that the front end leveling kits will wear out ball joints in 10K miles??? Is there a kit that anyone has used that has worked out?? thanks.

Well, first your truck has torsion bars up front. There is a bolt for each that can be cranked to adjust the ride height. You can easily level the front of the truck this way.

 

You should have the alignment checked after adjusting the ride height, just in case.

 

As for the ball joints, I don't know. I think it would be okay on a 2500HD, but not on a 1500. But, I just don't know.
