Diff or Tranny slippage?

While dirving my 2000 Sierra SBSC 4X4, I have started to notice that sometimes when I go to take off from a stop, it seems the rear end or the tranny pauses (or slips) a little then the truck moves forward. It doesn't do it all the time or during any specific part of the day but I'm wondering where to start looking. Any suggestions before I permanently damage something and have to replace either the diff or the tranny? I know I have read in this forum that the 4L60 has had problems but this truck is not driven hard and rarely pulls anything.

I have had this problem with my transmission since the truck rolled off the lot. Have over 80,000 miles now. May not act up for two months, then slip 5 times in a day. Dealer says they are aware of the problem, but don't have a cure.

there is a g.m.bulletin out for a rewiring of the alternator.seems that the alternator

is backfeeding at times causing the tranny to slip.check with your locale dealer for

that and maybe a reflash of the pcm.

Diff's don't slip.

There's a TSB on the newer ones about reflashing the computer for the tranny.

My wife's 04 has been reflashed twice and it would "slip" also.....

I have noticed the same thing on my 05 4L80E and I only have 16000 miles on mine. I would like to know too.

I have also experienced the same condition on my 2003 2500HD ECSB. I only have 31K miles on it. I have taken it to the dealer on several occasions. They have:

1. Checked for and installed PCM updates

2. Checked TSB's for slip-yoke problems.

3. Done a complete differential and transmission flush and refill.

I have to admit that they have really tried to help me, but neither they nor I can cause it to happen while they are inspecting it. It always happens in the same set of conditions, but not everytime those conditions are met. Dealer seems to believe it is some sort of computer glitch i.e engine sensor and trans sensor not communicating at certain times.

I don't have a clue as I have tried everything to have it fixed. So if anyone discovers the problem, please post it.
