Best Cool Air Intake Kit

IMO, I like the metal tubed Intakes... I just like the looks of em. I have an MAC (www.macperformance.com) Cold air dam and chrome tube ($190)... supposedly they dynoed a 4.8 and it made 14 more rwhp... Heres the dilemma though... K&N has proven products... but their entire system is made out of plastic... And for their price.. well... Thats why I have a chrome one... Plastic cant cost that much to make! Also.. everybody and their dog has k&N stuff.. Therefore I took the road less traveled. Volant makes Plastic ones too... But their prices are way high... Not saying that plastic is bad though, because of a little something that I noticed with my chrome one... Under the hood that tube gets really hot... whereas plastic wouldnt be that way... But even at that... The dyno results are about the same between the two. So it must not make that much difference... Being that you asked for opinions ill give you mine... Get the MAC!

I'll just list my experiances...

*1st intake:

Airraid: dynoed 246 rwhp

*2nd intake

K&N FIPK:dynoed 255 rwhp (electric fans also on this dyno)

*3rd intake

UPD: dynoed 261 rwhp (no other mods than previous dyno)

Just my experiances. One of the things I have heard(but not experianced) is that metal intakes tubes suffer from heat soak more than plastic tubes.
