Helix Power Tower

I'm trying to get some cheap horsepower and Better gas mileage and I came across the Helix Power Tower and it says it does just that more power and better gas mileage here's the quote from them

< "The Helix Power Tower from Street & Performance Electronics raises the throttle body injection unit one inch and adds a unique Helix screw design to create a vortex air flow pattern greatly improving fuel atomization, resulting in more complete combustion. Dyno testing shows up to 20 more horsepower, dramatically increased torque and improved fuel economy>"

So has anyone used it .. does it work .. is it worth 100 bucks?

Thanks

basically it's supposed to "spin" the air and thus allow more into the engine.  For example, take a two liter bottle, and dump it out, the water glugs out, but if you give it a lil spin it flows out a lot faster.  Sounds like a good idea for the intake, and people who have used it say they get a whistle noise so you know it's doing something.  I think it may do something, but I doubt that it'll add 20 hp, or do 100% of what the mfg. claims.

Mine helped (Poweraid)... Hardly noticeable on power.. but throttle response is better... Definately noticed a gain though with all my mods combined (see below)  :)

Either way I don't think they can hurt anything, and they're not too expensive - the way I see it you might as well just get it and try it out  :)

I have the Helix. When I put it on (nearly stock) I noticed a little something, other than the whistle. As I put on more mods it really was no longer useful IMO. When I put it on, I had an Airraid intake and it fit. When I went with the K&N FIPK it had to come off, because of clearance problems with the fan even after I cut the shroud down some. After I put electric fans in, I drove for a while w/o it then put it back on and noticed absolutly nothing. Now with the UPD I still have it on for no other reason that it would be a $100 paperweight if I didn't use it. Do I recommend it, I'll have to say 50 / 50 .If you plan on just intake and exhaust, I 'd say go for it. If you plan on headers, programming, and basically all the bolt ups, I would say it's not worth it. That is just my opinion.
