Well ladies and gentlemen i had the worst day i have had in a long time. My truck got broken into and they took around $7500 worth of stuff out. plus the cost to have the window replaced and re-tinted. and if i ever find the bastard who did it, i will be in jail for a VERY LONG TIME.

Sorry dude. Unfortunately there are some trite people in this world.

I learned my lesson not to leave any valuables in plain sight in a locked vehicle about 24 years ago.

Somebody broke into my car and stole a portable radio/tape player, and worst of all, did substantial damage to the car because they broke the drivers window, and also the door handle and I did not have comprehensive coverage on the car, so I had to pay for repairs. Prior to that incident somebody vandalized my car twice within a month. I just got it fixed and somebody dented it in the same spot again. Talk about being pissed!

$ 7,500 for a laptop and college books? That sounds like a lot of money. I know college books went way up in price since I went to college back in the early 80's but I bet you can buy a lot of textbooks for say $ 6,000 even today.

Psst... you can hide that stuff under your rear seat. That's what I do.

Smash and grabs are very common... unfortunately, I see it as a 50 / 50 blame... they take the blame for the theft, you take the blame for leaving it out for them to steal.

well here is the fun part, My stuff WAS under the seat, i must have been poking out, the bag was Red White and Blue so i guess it stood out

I see it differently. They stole it, it is fully their fault. You should theoretically be able to put crap in your open bed and have nobody take it.

We would certainly hate for anyone to start assuming personal responsibility in this country.
