VSS Wire

Is it possible that my truck might have a VSS Wire already in place from the factory? It has a green and white wire in the smaller connector, but the Nav always seems to be a few hundred feet off...so I am confused as to how this goes.

 

My truck started as a fully loaded half ton crew with every option but the rear DVD Player.

 

How many of you guys trucks did actually have the wire in place??

 

How many had to add it...seems like everyone has had to add it from what I have been reading.

Can you tell where the other end of the wire goes? It should be connected (or test successful for connectivity) to position A4 on the instrument panel connector.

 

Even if it's not hooked up, I doubt that would be causing the problem you're describing.

one way to tell if it's hooked up is if you can type in a direction while driving. VSS connected does not allow that to happen.
